Abigale Lee
Mills (born September 21, 1965) was a American dance instructor, choreographer,
and reality TV host. Abby Lee Dance Company was established by her. It was a
part of eight seasons of the show Dance Moms. Miller admitted guilt on June
27th, 2016 to the charge of felony bankruptcy fraud. Miller was sentenced on
the 27th of June the 27th of June, 2016 to a year, one day in federal prison.
Miller was released on March 27, 2018. The diagnosis of lymphoma was made in
April 2018. It's a kind of cancer that renders her unfit to walk. She uses a
wheelchair to move around. Miller grew up around dance in Penn Hills,
Pennsylvania, located in a Pittsburgh suburb. She was studying under the
guidance of her mother at the Maryen Lorrain Dance Studio. Miller was 14 when
she was assigned the choreography and the coaching of one of her mother’s dance
teams. Miller became the sole owner of the studio and changed its name to Reign
Dance Productions in 1995. Miller was certified by Dance Masters of America in
1986 and was made an associate part of Dance Masters of Pennsylvania Chapter 10
in February 2012. But her membership was terminated by the DMA in February
2012, after the DMA claimed that Miller's reality-TV show Dance Moms was
"a complete misrepresentation of teachers and students of dance and was
detrimental to the dance industry."
